Student Research

Podcasts

Student Fellows in the project have created a number of podcasts examining race at the University. Drawing on oral histories done through the project, several podcasts explore the experience of students of color at the University in the years following integration. There are also a number of podcasts on the topic of race and resistance in theater.

Presentations

A key aspect of the Race and Racism Project is sharing the research done each summer with the broader UR community through venues like the annual Arts and Sciences Research Symposium. Slideshows for some of those presentations are available.

Exhibits

Based mostly on archival research done in University Archives, student fellows produced a number of online exhibits on topic such as Lost Cause imagery in university publications and events and racism at UR fraternities from the 1940s through the 1980s. These and seventeen other exhibits are available through the former Race and Racism Project website.
